Hey Everyone,

Let’s Welcome McKenna Sterling to the fictional world of Yajna Ramnath.

Here’s an excerpt and cover reveal.

“Kenna?” She frowned at me.  “I thought I was meeting Eli.”

I looked at her longer than necessary. This was what he wanted… instead of me?

I blinked. “Sorry, yeah, he’ll be here in a few. I hope you don’t mind that he asked me to come along?”

I dared her with my eyes to tell me she didn’t want me here. My palms itched to remove the pocket knife from my purse.

“No, of course, not,”  she grinned. “As long as you’re cool, I’m cool.”

I gave her a full smile and looped my arm through hers. “I’m cool. Just call me the third wheel.”

I wasn’t crazy. If I was, then it was not intentional. Eli stands outside with his hands in his charcoal grey suit pockets. His long, chiseled features are highlighted by fear.

What was going to happen next? Will Mackenna escape? Will she try to hurt us again?

He refused to look up. If he did, then he would have to accept the fact that I was behind these bars because of him.

I don’t blame him though. When people are meant for each other, one person usually finds out before the other. One must convince their partner that they’re made for each other.

Eli just needed some extra convincing. I glance to the left of him and find her standing there. She was as beautiful as she was the first time I saw her. Granted, she had a few extra scars and a knife wound, but it made her even more beautiful.

I smile as I turn away from the bars.

They think it’s over.

I laugh.

They think these bars will hold me.

I laugh harder.

Game on.

Judge me for my looks, I dare you …

I read something the other day that pissed me off to no end. Probably because it hit so close to home, but mostly because as someone who regularly endures it, I feel strongly about it.

An actress from an Indian Drama Television series that I watch, was body shamed for being too skinny in an Instagram post. I stopped for a second and though to myself, how is calling someone skinny an different from calling someone fat? Why must we be careful about referring to curvy, over-weight, or healthy as”fat” and yet no one hesitates to say things like this:

Circumstances and experiences can change you drastically. It doesn’t matter how many clichés you follow, it doesn’t matter how many catchy quotes you use to lie to those around you, it doesn’t even matter whether you physically stop yourself from feeling every little thing–at the end of a long day when you sit down with just your thoughts to surround you–the reality grabs hold of you in a vise grip.

Life is hard. It is so fucking hard that sometimes you don’t really understand which way is up and which way is down. There really isn’t anything wrong with having that feeling, it just means that somewhere and somehow, things are going exactly as they should be.

Nothing worth having comes easy in life and all that.

Sure, there’s that handful. That handful that have their lives mapped out for them. That handful that think they are truly living by never moving off of their path. Those people that knew from the beginning where they want to head and how they want it to turn out. Continue reading

“There is a difference,” she whispered in the dark. “There is a difference between those that are lost and those that wander.”

“What is the difference?” he asks, wrapping her up in a dark embrace.

“Not all those who wander are lost,” she says remembering a quote she heard from a long time ago.

“What do you consider yourself?” his darkness licks at her skin erotically.

“I am lost,” she moans.

“Why?” he purrs.

“Because I have always been left behind,” she looks out from her vantage point. She stands at the top of a cliff and far behind her, are all the people she filled her life with. “Today, I will leave them all behind.” Continue reading

The Girl in the Sunlit Rain

“From women’s eyes this doctrine I derive:
They sparkle still the right Promethean fire;
They are the books, the arts, the academes,
That show, contain, and nourish all the world.”

Welcome to Dramir, a city where the blood never stops flowing

The streets of Dramir have always been protected under the rule of the reigning King. It was all because of his not so secret weapon.

A weapon they called the assassin. A weapon with long-dark hair, savage soulless eyes and a body built for sin.

She wielded a sword as one would breathe air. She danced in blood as one would dance in rain. She laughed in the face of death as one would laugh at a bad joke.

It was believed that the day the assassin experienced emotion, the world of Dramir as they knew it would crumble under the force of her shattering heart.

How could you break the heart of someone who had long since lived without one?

How could you fight against the darkness when she forced light to do her bidding?

Most importantly how could you hide, when she came looking for you?

It started out as an innocent blog. I just wanted to tell the world about my life. That was harmless right?

I didn’t realise just what I did, how many lives I destroyed and how many people I lost because of my own need to vent about my issues with men. I didn’t realise what my judgement of other’s caused. I didn’t realise watch a selfish, terrible and evil person I was.

Not until I finally had something to lose.

He came into my life like a whirlwind. He showed me passion like I’ve never known. He challenged me at every step and broke down my defences. He took a selfish girl and made her feel. But then our secrets got in the way. My inability to see him as anything different than every other guy that I had met. His aversion to giving all of him without the guarantee of receiving all of me. It was all leading up to one life altering night. One life altering moment that would make or break our future. The problem was whether or not we could find our forever.
